They were taking the money to Prince John, along with a message from the Abbot about Sir Richard. 1986 Under the Wild Moon (Diane Carey) An historical romance novel, in which a spirited woman of Medieval England becomes involved with Robin Hood’s band of outlaws and falls in love with Robin’s dashing cousin, Will Scarlet. What were the two monks going to do with the money? He finds 800 pounds of gold and a few more pounds of silver. They get endless violent cartoon shows that are only created to sell merchandise. Part of me would like to see it again, but another part me is afraid that it would lose some of it's golden glow. Looking back after over 40 years, I realize that the relationship between Robin and Marian was more that of pals than lovers as befitted a Saturday morning show for kids.
I don't remember her using a sword very much, but she was an excellent archer. As the novels title suggests, Pyles Robin Hood is an extremely light hearted man who frequently laughs and treats most things that befall him as a 'merry adventure' or a joke. Unlike most shows of the 50's, Marian did not just sit around in a long dress waiting to be rescued. Robin and his merry band not only defeated the Sheriff in every show, they did it with grace and humor. The Sheriff of Nottingham was a dastardly villain with no sense of humor.
He was remarkably good looking and charming. I loved the show - and I loved Richard Greene. Of all the shows that I watched when I was a child, this is the one I liked the most.
